Orange Honey BBQ Chicken

I'm not a huge fan of BBQ sauce, but I love this. The orange gives it an unexpected flavor. I served it with Zucchini and Mushroom orzo.

1 package chicken thighs
1 cup orange juice, divided
2 Tbsp orange zest, divided
3/4 cup BBQ sauce
4 Tbsp honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger
1/4 cup olive oil

For the marinade: Mix 1/2 cup orange juice, olive oil, 1 Tbsp orange zest and garlic cloves together. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours and up to overnight. Turn the chicken half way through marinating.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the chicken in a baking dish, discarding the marinade. Bake for 45 minutes. Meanwhile, mix together BBQ sauce, remaining orange juice, orange zest, and honey together. After the chicken has baked for 45 minutes, brush with the BBQ sauce mixture, return to the oven for about 20 minutes, brushing with more marinade about every 7-10 minutes.
